The key word is being 'was'

ok she's wearing a stereotypical southern dress, with sun umbrella and everything,

btw if you can't tell she has the Confederate flag (yes the correct one and not the battle one) tied around her waist like a sash,

I like to think of this is before she left the Union,

yes many fans believe Sister America was the Confederacy, during the Civil War, which probably why she got so sad when she accidentally drew the Confederate battle flag, when trying to make a 'Friendship Flag' for her and Norway

Ha sister America was the south and then moved west because her brother beat her up. There was less law in the west and so she could do her own thing, right?

I'm talking about Sherman's March to the sea, which is apparently very controversial. It was basically the idea that the Union needed to make the south too weak to fight so they destroyed as much infrastructure as possible. A lot of southerners moved west after the war because when they came back there wasn't much left of their former homes.
My head cannon is that Brother America decided he'd have to make sure Sister America wouldn't try to leave again, and they fought so hard that she got hurt (he didn't mean to hurt her that bad, but he did) and that she got mad and ran off to the west.

Really? I'd have thought that Sister would've been the North because of her interest in Civil Rights, but I guess this holds ground too.

Let's not kid ourselves. Sister America is a Hollywood Liberal--she's only interested in civil rights to the extent that it's trendy. She thinks gay people are penguins, for crying out loud!

Well duh, I never said she was SERIOUS about it. But the point is that she thinks she is, and compared to Brother America (who thinks flamingos are gay... which actually kind of makes sense if you think about. Not much, but more than penguins.)... yeah.

Pink sure, fluffy not so much. They're more like snakes that have learned how to stand upright and mimic the call of an ill-tempered goose.
